Drive5
compact ANPR traffic camera system for ITS

JAI’s Drive5 is a high performance camera system designed for a wide range of ANPR-based applications, such as open road tolling (ORT), toll booth and bridge tolling, border and access control, section speed control, weigh-in-motion, and more. It has many of the same features as VISCAM 1000, but is designed for projects with simpler networking and integration requirements.

Handles high-speed traffic conditions

Drive 5 features a high-speed, 5-megapixel CMOS camera and intelligent triggering modes to ensure that each vehicle is captured in the best location within the frame for ANPR readability. This includes high-speed traffic, lane changes, and closely-spaced vehicles.

Real-time light sensing and exposure control

Advanced algorithms constantly check image saturation levels, sun position, and other factors to ensure the best possible exposure under the most demanding situations including high contrast from bright sunlight and shadows; glare and bright spots; headlights and nighttime conditions; different plate colors and styles; and much more.

Small and rugged system enclosure

With its compact and rugged design, the Drive5 is an excellent choice for projects without large existing gantry structures and where integration to standard lane controllers is not required.

Features

  • 5-megapixel CMOS camera with high sensitivity and choice of fixed focal or zoom lens.

  • Monochrome or color images.

  • Single- or dual-lane coverage.

Here are a few applications where Drive 5 systems are especially suitable

Drive 5 is an excellent choice for projects without large existing gantry structures and where integration to standard lane controllers is not required.

Toll collection and violation enforcement

Drive 5 can be used on toll roads or toll bridges to provide high quality images for ANPR software and enforcement packages.

Open road tolling (ORT)

For smaller ORT projects, Drive 5 can be installed in systems that collect road tolls cost-effectively without the need for toll booth installations and radio frequency transponders.

Section/average speed control

Unlike simple “speed traps”, average speed enforcement systems track vehicles over longer distances by matching plate numbers or vehicle images to determine if enforcement action is required.

Border and access control

Drive 5 systems provide a full range of features for 24/7 monitoring of border crossings or vehicle access to restricted facilities.

Weigh-in-motion systems

Drive 5 systems offer the complete set of imaging capabilities needed by integrators implementing weigh-in-motion systems. Reliable plate images can be captured at normal traffic speeds to maximize the efficiency of transport.
