The JAI Wave Series includes line scan cameras equipped with InGaAs (Indium Gallium Arsenide) sensors capable of detecting Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR) light.
Wave Series cameras reveal details that are invisible to standard visible-light imaging systems, enabling the detection of moisture content, material variations, and defects with enhanced contrast. This provides improved accuracy and efficiency across a wide range of industrial machine vision applications, including food sorting, semiconductor and wafer inspection, and waste management.
The line scan SWIR cameras (WAL models) feature image sensors with large 12.5 μm square pixels for enhanced light sensitivity in low-light conditions and improved signal-to-noise performance. A 14-bit video output delivers 16,384 grayscale levels, enabling more precise detection of material differences and defects.
