Pre-requisite for GUI-bsed sample code:
In order to compile GUI-based samples for Ubuntu, Qt is required.
- For Ubuntu 22.04 Desktop: Qt 5.15.3- For Ubuntu 20.04 Desktop: Qt 5.12.8- For Ubuntu 18.04 Desktop: Qt 5.9.5
To install Qt on your 18.04 or 20.04 system, execute "sudo apt-get install qt-5-default"
To install Qt on your 22.04 system, execute "sudo apt-get install qtbase5-dev qt5-qmake"
If dpkg is blocked, it may be due to Ubuntu's auto update. This can be disabled or stopped, then run the installer again.
Installation Instructions:Make sure you have the correct distribution. No other versions than the ones mentioned above are supported.
To install the eBUS SDK on the Ubuntu Linux 64-bit Linux distribution:
1. Copy the eBUS SDK installation package to your computer
2. From the terminal, execute the following command:sudo dpkg -i eBUS_SDK_JAI_[distribution-targeted]-[version#]-[build#].deb
where [distribution-targeted] can be:Ubuntu-22.04 x86_64Ubuntu-20.04 x86_64Ubuntu-18.04 x86_64
3. From the terminal, execute the eBUSPlayerJAI script in /opt/jai/ebus_sdk/[platform name]/bin
4. Refer to the eBUS SDK Linux Quick Start Guide for any other required installations needed to support MP4 Video, Python, etc.DOCUMENTATION:The following documentation is available. (The eBUS Player guide and the Release Notes are the same documents as found in the Windows downloads table).

These packages provide the ebPCAPRecorder utility, which is a tool for capturing packets that are transferred between GigE Vision compliant transmitters and your computer. PYTHON WRAPPERS (API) FOR UBUNTU 64-BIT:The eBUS SDK Python API enables programmers to utilize the popular Python programming language to create their vision applications while providing various API classes and methods to leverage the core functions of the eBUS SDK for device configuration and control, unicast and multicast communication, image and data acquisition, image display, and diagnostics.
RUNTIME PACKAGES FOR UBUNTU 64-BIT:Runtime packages allow for integration into applications developed with the eBUS SDK. The runtime package installs only the items that are required to run an application created with the eBUS SDK (including GigE Vision and USB3 Vision drivers). It excludes the items that are used to create applications with the eBUS SDK.
