- eBUSBase.PvPixelTypeGetBitsPerPixel(aPixelType)¶
Get the number of bits required to hold a pixel using the specified pixel type.
Returns the bits per pixel value encoded in the pixel type enumeration. This value is extracted from bits 16-23 of the pixel type value.
- Parameters:
aPixelType (
PvPixelType, in) – The pixel type to query- Return type:
int
- Returns:
Number of bits per pixel (same as
PvPixelTypeGetPixelBitCount)

PvPixelTypeGetPixelSize,PvPixelTypeGetPixelBitCount
- eBUSBase.PvPixelTypeGetPixelSize(aPixelType)¶
Get the pixel size in bits for a specific pixel type.
This is the canonical function to get the total number of bits per pixel. Both
PvPixelTypeGetPixelBitCountandPvPixelTypeGetBitsPerPixelcall this function.- Parameters:
aPixelType (
PvPixelType, in) – The pixel type to query- Return type:
int
- Returns:
Number of bits per pixel

PvPixelTypeGetPixelBitCount,PvPixelTypeGetBitsPerPixel
- eBUSBase.PvPixelTypeIsPixelColor(aPixelType)¶
Determine if a pixel type represents color data (not monochrome).
Returns True for all color formats including RGB, BGR, Bayer, YUV, YCbCr, and color 3D coordinate formats. Returns False only for monochrome formats.
- Parameters:
aPixelType (
PvPixelType, in) – The pixel type to test- Return type:
bool
- Returns:
True: Color pixel format (RGB, BGR, Bayer, YUV, YCbCr, etc.)
False: Monochrome format (Mono8, Mono16, Mono1p, Mono2p, Mono4p, Mono10, Mono12, Mono14, Mono32, and all mono packed/signed variants)

PvPixelTypeIsPixelHighRes
- eBUSBase.PvPixelTypeIsPixelHighRes(aPixelType)¶
Determine if a pixel type uses more than 8 bits per channel.
Returns True for pixel formats that use more than 8 bits per color component. This is useful for determining if special processing or display handling is needed for high dynamic range images.
- Parameters:
