JAI at Vision 2011

A large number of visitors came to JAI's stand to see the broad range of new JAI CCD/CMOS cameras introduced at Vision 2011 in Stuttgart.

Among the many new cameras on display were:

  • AM-800CL, AB-800CL, AM-800GE and AB-800GE:  8-megapixel, high speed area scan cameras based on quad-tap CCD technology. Available in monochrome and color with Camera Link or GigE interfaces.

  • AM-201CL, AB-201CL, AM-201GE and AB-201GE: 2-megapixel, high speed 16:9 format area scan cameras based on quad-tap CCD technology. Available in monochrome and color with GigE Vision or Camera Link interfaces.

  • AM-200CL, AB-200CL, AM-200GE and AB-200GE:  2-megapixel industrial grade quad-tap CCD cameras offering a standard 4:3 aspect ratio, high fidelity, and high frame rates. Available in monochrome and color with GigE Vision or Camera Link interfaces.

  • MT-200GE Medical: 2-megapixel 3CCD prism-based camera with GigE Vision interface for dedicated medical imaging.

  • LT-200CL: Prism-based color line scan camera with 3 x 2048 pixels CMOS sensors. Capable of running at scan rates up to 30383 lines/second.

  • LQ-050CL: 4CCD prism-based color line scan camera providing simultaneous separate imaging of red, green and blue, plus near-infrared light data.

LT-200CL -  3CMOS prism-based color line scan camera:
LT-200CL is a new 3-CMOS color Line Scan camera using 3 x 2048 pixel line sensors. The sensors are mounted on a prism to provide separate channels for Red, Green and Blue light spectrum giving high quality color registration.

Using an advanced CMOS sensor, it is possible to get high resolution images and at the same time maintain a high inspection speed - a combination that is not possible with CCD line scan sensors.

It is also possible to use the LT-200CL on wider conveyer belts without compromising image resolution and inspection speed leading to an overall improvement in inspection efficiency on conveyer belts.

The LT-200CL provides a range of built-in pre-processing such as flat-field correction, gamma/gain correction and manual/automatic white balance.

The camera also features knee and binning functions for extended dynamic range and sensitivity as well as a special sub-sampling function making it possible to increase the line frequency to 32360 lines/sec.

With high quality design and manufacturing of the LT-200CL electronics, the camera is able to deliver a signal-to-noise ratio as high as 57dB providing low noise operation and superior image quality. Read more and download datasheet

LQ-050CL - prism-based 4-CCD color line scan camera:
The LQ-050CL is a new prism-based 4-CCD color line scan cameras. The camera features a beam splitter prism incorporating four precisely pixel-to-pixel aligned CCD sensors.

Red, Green, Blue and NIR light spectrum bands are captured simultaneously in four separate channels through the same optical path. By adding an NIR sensor, the new camera makes it possible to identify an even wider set of defects on inspected objects.

Each of the four CCD sensors provides 512 linear pixels with a pixel size of 14 μm x 14 μm square. The camera runs at a maximum scan rate of 70922 lines per second with a 40 MHz pixel clock, delivering a high signal-to-noise ratio of 58dB.

The camera’s prism-block technology enables users to avoid the complex alignment and encoding issues associated with tri-linear line scan cameras, especially those related to off-axis viewing, variations in conveyor speeds, surface undulations, or objects that roll or move as they pass through the camera’s field of view.

LQ-050L contains a number of built-in pre-processing functions including flat-field correction, gamma/gain correction and manual/automatic white balance. Gamma/gain correction, flat-field correction, as well as the electronic shutter can be set individually for the red, blue, green and NIR channels. Read more and download datasheet.

MT-200GE Medical - 3-CCD prism-based camera dedicate medical imaging:
The MT-200GE Medical, is a new generation of 3-CCD prism-based digital progressive scan cameras from JAI, dedicated to the medical and life sciences field.

MT-200GE - New JAI 3CCD camera for medical imaging
To help doctors in patient diagnostics, medical imaging has become an increasingly important element in a number of analytical systems such as endoscopy and microscopy but also in diagnostics processes related to eye surgery, skin diseases, cell imaging and cell and tissue diagnostics. All of these applications rely on critical resolving power and precise color management in camera technology. JAI’s MT-200GE Medical camera has been developed to provide accurate, high resolution images under low light conditions.

The camera incorporates 1/2- inch, 2-megapixel progressive scan CCD’s that run 25 frames per second at 8-bit or 10-bit data rates through a plug-and-play GigE Vision interface.

The precisely aligned 3-CCDs on the prism block generate true image colors through JAI’s original color matrix circuit. Users have the possibility to get not only the RGB digital data but also sRGB or Adobe RGB video directly from the camera to calibrate it with connected devices like monitors or printers.

JAI’s true color management system in combination with megapixel resolution gives clear and natural images of skin, blood, eye iris and other biological objects being viewed, providing users with a better foundation in relation to patient diagnostics and patient treatment, as well as in medical research studies.

JAI takes part in the Vision 2011, Stuttgart Medical Discovery Tour.
