For extreme low-light applications, JAI offers camera models featuring high-performance intensifer tubes which are fiber-optically coupled to 1/2" or 2/3” CCDs, enabling the cameras to “see” in environments where light levels are as low as 1 x 10-6 lux (cloudy starlight).  These intensified (ICCD)cameras typically include auto-gating to protect against sudden light changes, and undergo rigorous vibration testing to ensure performance under real-world conditions. Integrated lens control functions are also available. 

Widely used for night vision applications in the defense and homeland security markets, intensified cameras are also utilized for selected applications in the fields of oceanography, medicine, scientific research, and industrial automation.
