For high-speed applications such as print verification, tile inspection, food/fruit sorting, and other applications, JAI has designed a powerful color line scan camera that utilizes 3CCD (3-chip) technology. This camera is more compact than most other 3CCD cameras, and features a precisely-aligned 3-chip prism element to produce the highest possible color fidelity in combination with a high line rate.

Because the 3CCD design has a common optical plane for all three sensors, it is less complex to set up than typical tri-linear cameras, and less likely to have problems with color registration or parallax effects. This enables it to be used for a wide variety of applications, including those where the surface needs to be viewed at an angle other than perpendicular.
