Multi-spectral imaging cameras
JAI’s multi-CCD technology provides a new way of thinking in machine vision and advanced imaging.

JAI’s multi-spectral imaging cameras carry out simultaneous separate imaging of visible and near infrared light through a single lens. This technology makes it possible to simultaneously scrutinize surface properties and penetrate beneath the surface of the inspected item.

Multi-spectral imaging technology is ideal for inspecting currency, checks, textiles, circuit boards, fruit and vegetables.


High dynamic range cameras
JAI also features cameras with a unique 2-CCD design with two standard monochrome progressive scan sensors mounted to a custom-designed optical prism with precise alignment to the same optical axis. These cameras provide linear high dynamic range with CCD image quality & performance.

The shutter speed and/or gain for each channel can be calibrated independently, such that one channel captures details in the brighter areas and the second captures the identical image, but with an emphasis on the details in the darker areas.

The two images can then be analyzed separately or post-processed with an image fusion algorithm to produce a dynamic range nearly double the normal CCD response.
